Forget arriving in a horse-drawn carriage, perching on Posh'n'Becks-style thrones or releasing doves: the must-have accessory for a truly magical wedding is to have your rings delivered by owl or hawk.

The birds are trained to respond to our whistle and land on a falconry glove held out by the best man, the bird will then be treated with a tasty treat.
Birds of prey don't come back for any affection. It's food they want. They know that when we whistle, if they come to the glove they'll get a reward.

But this isn't a modern concept, falconers have long used birds of prey at their weddings. Their flight into mainstream weddings may be due to the charms of Hedwig, the snowy owl in Harry Potter.

If you'd like more birds of prey at your wedding we can also put on a static or flying bird display.

The traditional application of falconry has been to take a bird of prey, train it and then attempt to catch wild quarry with it. Although our Walk is not a full-on hunting expedition our leisurely stroll through the woods and countryside with falconer and hawk (or hawks) does show the ability of trained birds and their relationship with their human partners.

You are likely to witness the natural hunting prowess of these birds as they demonstrate their speed and agility. Of course, we also like to give participants as much hand-on time as possible too. This three hour session is held in the afternoons and is an experience that few will ever forget.

At the start of this session you will be greeted by the falconer. After a short handling lesson the real experience begins as you are escorted and you begin flying the birds.

We will provide you with a show to remember, we will bring a number of owls to your party so that you can learn more about their habitat and even have hands on experience with the birds. The birthday boy/girl, man or woman will get a years adoption included in the price.

You may photograph or take a video of you event.
Otherwise we can provide photographs at a reduced cost. All our staff are knowledgeable and will answer any questions that you have.
